Source: Novato Advance Wednesday, November 19, 2008 2:41 PM PST Several people called 911 -- including a Marin County Sheriff’s deputy -- to report seeing “flying space debris” or a meteor streaking across the sky in Novato at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. “They were describing it as flying debris in the sky,” said Sandy Wargo, spokeswoman for the Novato Fire Protection District. The fire district sent firefighters out searching for the unidentified flying object or objects, which callers variously reported as landing near the Gnoss Airfield, Marinwood or somewhere to the northwest. “We were dispatched out, but we couldn’t find anything,” Wargo said.
