Robert Taylor, who was involved in the only known police inquiry involving a UFO in British history, has died at age 88.

He was a forester from Livingston, West Lothian in Scotland who encountered strange objects in Dechmont Woods on November 9th, 1979. The largest object was estimated at about 20 feet in diameter and hovered just above the ground.

The two smaller objects rushed toward him and attached themselves onto each of his trouser legs tugging him towards the larger object, when he then lost consciousness. Ground marks were later discovered at the scene of the encounter by the Police who investigated the incident.

Robert Taylor was noted to have said on the 25th anniversary of the November incident;
"I stand by every word of my account. I told it as it happened and it's as clear as yesterday. It is the most amazing thing that ever happened to me."

Robert had been living in a nursing home when he died from bronchial pneumonia last week.
